Edge of the Earth is owned and operated by Marni and Russ Niles. We’re both former journalists who moved to a beautiful seven acre property 40 years ago to raise our two fine sons Graham and Mark.

When the boys moved on to their own successful lives (Graham in the grocery business, Mark an Air Force pilot), we started raising grapes and we’ve been running the farm, vineyard and winery on Gulch Road near Armstrong, B.C. (just north of Vernon) since 2002. Russ has kept his hand in journalism, though, and work as a freelance aviation writer.

Our border collie Sophie who many of you came to know died in July 2021 at the ripe old age of 18. She got most of a final wine season to greet the hundreds of customers she came to know during her long and beautiful life. We miss her but we also cherish her memory.

We enjoy a  loyal following of customers and guests because of our excellent products and great value.  All of our wines are made on the premises in small batches to ensure quality and attention to the details that make the difference between good and great wines.

We love what we do and it shows in our product quality and loyal customer base. Our hands-on operation and careful management of overhead allows us to sell our products at very reasonable prices. Since we sell only from our premises and at farmers’ markets, we don’t have to worry about undercutting the prices charged by retail stores and can offer real savings to our winery-direct customers.

We sell top quality Okanagan wine for as little as $10.83 a bottle.

We love to grow things and our gardens are part of the tour.

Winemaking is a challenge in this area but our vineyard site gives the grapes we grow the abundant sunshine, deep mineral soil and sparking clean water to produce wines of outstanding freshness, character and richness. We now produce more than half of our own grapes and the balance comes from small vineyards in the North Okanagan and in Osoyoos. We do all of the processing right at our winery.

We look forward to welcoming you from March 20 to the end of October from Sunday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and Saturdays from 3-5 (see us at the Armstrong and Revelstoke markets earlier that day) so you can sample a little of our idyllic lives and the wonderful products that result from our labour of love.

See you soon!
