Red Wine

2016 Marechal Foch

The new wine is light, fresh and fruity with that lovely soft Foch palate.

Marechal Foch

Marechal Foch

Made from grapes grown in four vineyards, each with distinct growing conditions and vine age, this wine is greater than the sum of its parts. Soft and silky with multiple layers of flavour,  it is ruby red in colour and has the aroma of spiced cherries. The palate shows more cherry notes, along with the hint of Foch smokiness and bright acidity.

Marechal Foch Extra

Bottled and drinking beautifully

Marechal Foch

Marechal Foch

Our beautiful Foch augmented with the sweet skins left when we pressed the White Syrah and Malbec. The skins add a punch of tannic complexity and boost the alcohol to almost 14 percent for deep, dark wine that retains the soft cherry roundness of the Foch with added berry and subtle oak notes. The Syrah version is dry and fruity and Malbec version is full of coffee and chocolate. Wonderful with any meat dish, it’s especially good with lamb chops or the richest prime rib you can roast. Unique and very special.

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon

Big, rich and delicious.

From Red Brick Vineyard on the world famous east bench of Osoyoos, this is a full extracted cab that will continue to grow for years to come. 2015 was a great year for the big reds in the South Okanagan and the long hot days of summer coupled with the cool nights of early fall brought this cab into perfect balance. This wine was bottled in the spring and is already smooth and sumptuous, bursting with cassis and blackberry and can be enjoyed immediately with rich meat dishes, extra old cheddar or an inch-thick T-bone. Or age for up to six years to develop that classic Cab depth and richness.

Malbec

Sold out. 2016 will be available in late May. The signature grape of Argentina has a bright future in the Okanagan. It seems to be particularly well suited to the South Okanagan and delivers a delightfully balanced mouthful of plummy elegance. We liked it right out of the tank and now that has settled in the bottle it’s getting better every day.

White Wine

2016 Argus

Crisp and delicious as always. A bear got some of the grapes last fall so there’s a little less than last year. It will likely sell out by early summer.

Argus

Argus

Our own eclectic mix of five varieties of grapes, one of which we don’t know the varietal, this wine is a fresh, crisp white that tastes like biting into a Granny Smith apple. Always in short supply and always in high demand, Argus never lasts long but if you’re lucky enough to get some it will be perfect sipping wine on the deck or at the lake. Serve as cold as your fridge will go and have some creamy Havarti and a fruit plate nearby.

Ortega

Ortega

Ortega

In good supply for the summer.

Grapes were perfect and the wine reflects that. It’s one of our best Ortegas.

From grapes grown in our own vineyard and from Salmon Arm, this gorgeous white has subtle floral notes, lychee and tropical fruits resembling Gewurztraminer but is lighter, fresher and drier. It’s everything you like about aromatic wines in a crisper, cleaner and fresher package. Stands up to spicy, rich Asian dishes and is our favourite wine with turkey, but is just as nice on movie night or poolside. Serve really cold.

2014 Viognier

A big, bold white that’s perfect with rich, thick soups, spicy chicken dishes and creamy pastas, this aristocratic wine drinks like a red.

Rich and flavourful on the palate, it packs a big alcoholic punch and has a long, delicious finish.

Available in 750 ml. and 1.5 litre bottles.

Blush

2015 White Syrah

Syrah

Syrah

A really nice blush.

Perfect hot tub and deck chair wine, this true blush is made from premium Syrah grapes, lightly pressed and sweetened with the original grape juice. So delicious. Excellent as a sipper or with light fare (chicken strips on a bed of Romaine with fancy greens comes to mind) be aware that for all its cool freshness, it comes from fully ripe premium Syrah grapes and packs a deceptive punch.

White Malbec

We’ve never seen another one but once other wineries taste it we expect a lot of copycats. Rich and fruity, it has a naturally sweet essence that demands an ice bucket and a sunny patio. So delicious on its own, try it with sweet and savoury appies.

Red Overboard

Marechal Foch

Marechal Foch

International trade laws prevent us from calling this what it tastes like but you might find something similar in Porto, Portugal. This is our beautiful Marechal Foch, coddled and cajoled through the long cold winter to keep slowly fermenting until the alcohol level gets above 16 percent. With the addition of medium toast French oak and enough residual sweetness to balance, the result is a rich, potent after-dinner drink that will make you revisit your relationship with chocolate. Wonderful with a campfire and toasted marshmallows, too!

White Overboard

A blend of Viognier, Ortega and Argus that is made the same way as the red type but with a completely different result. Sweet and rich, it hangs onto enough acidity to be refreshing and crisp, too. Lovely after-dinner sipper.
