Showing You How It’s Done

We do most of the work by hand, including bucketing wine into the press.

One of the great things about being so small is that our whole operation is steps from the tasting room. I call our wine tour “the only tour you can take standing still.”

We also believe that the more you know about our methods and practices, the more you’ll be able to enjoy the fruits of our labour.

No appointments are required for tours and there is no charge for the tour or the tasting. If you’re bringing a large group (10 or more) we’d appreciate a call ahead so we can makes some extra preparations to ensure you all get the most out of the experience

For much of the year there isn’t a lot going on in the winery but we display all the equipment and materials we use in such a way that guests can get an idea how everything works. A tour can take as little as 30 seconds or as long as an hour depending on the level of interest. We answer every question to the best of our knowledge honestly and completely. Winemaking is a perilous endeavour at times and we don’t have any qualms about telling guests about the challenges involved.

At times through the spring and summer there may be some bottling or other winemaking activities going on and guests are invited to pitch in and help. We’ve had people spend hours with us on the bottling line and we do reward such dedication!

Your best chance to catch us in action is in late September and early October when we’re harvesting and crushing grapes. It’s controlled pandemonium as we rush to get the beautiful fruit into the fermentation tanks to start the magic. Give us a call (250-546-2164) and we’ll let you know when the grape juice will be flying. If you come to help, make sure you wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained!

Our vineyard is a short distance from the winery but you’re welcome to stop and have a look. If we have time we’ll accompany you and answer any questions you might have.

We get the occasional bus tour and were pleased to welcome these folks from Taiwan last year.
